I got weird sound problem with the mpg, mpeg files but not the avi files. All of them, before encoding, sound really terrible, like cracking. Also it doesnīt help if I encode it with TMPGE to ordinary VCD, but when I encode it to SVCD the sound is ok, no cracking at all.I have installed Nimo Codecs and also divx 3,4,5...and directx8 and nothing helps....please can somebody help me...thanks!!

Well, if you load the file into Gold Wave, check to see if the sound waves go off the graph. I.e., if the sound lines extend above and below the chart. If they do, select Filter-->noise reduction, then OK. Save this new reduced file.

Multiplex your original video to the "oise reduced" sound file. The resulting video should be without that annoying noise.
    Hello.

  5. Thanks Tommyknocker, I got the sound work when it is a different file, wav.But Tmpge multiplex doesnīt take the wav-sound in....but then I notised something with my DVD-player; I recorded small mpge1-file with VCDease, and the sound is perfect. So the problem is still the same: the computer doesnīt play it properly.....I am making these mpge1 files to play them with my dvd-player, but the small files I would like to watch from the computer without this problem anyway...
What should I try next to fix this?
