  1. I'm having trouble with downloaded films & need an idiots guide.
I've tried chainging AVI 2 MPEG but i just can't get it to work.
I've tried TMPGEnc but it just says (cannot open-or unsupported)
I've tried AVI 2 VCD encoder , first it said (cannot encode compressed audio)
I decompressed it & tried again but all it says is (i do not have acceptable parameters or it cannot be opened)
then i tried vertical dub-1, i followed the instructions but it won't let me save to any file
    Any help would be great
    cheers & stay lucky..

Since there are many types of media file, its not possible to produce such a guide, and if one was made it would be outdated as soon as it was written

First you need a couple of basic programs, some you may already have, but I will list them anyway.

    The Nimo codec pack
    http://nimo.everwicked.com/ http://perso.wanadoo.fr/nimo/

This provides you with most of the poplar codec's used, you may also need the latest DivX 5 from www.divx.com

    Vdub
    http://www.virtualdub.org/

However you may also need other versions of it, like "Vdub AC3" and "Vdub Freeze frame"
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html

    TMPGEnc
    http://www.tmpgenc.net/

You may also need older versions of this, and for SVCD, PowerDVD 4

Most of these can also be found on Kazaa
