My dvd player is a GE 1105P and vcdhelp.com says I need silver layer cdrs and black layer cdrws, what exatcly are those? I am a long time runner of the VCD and other such things scene, but I am new to these types of cdrs and rws. Thanks for your help.

  2. The Silver/Black Layer CDRW's are basicly the colour you see on the underside of the media you buy, each colour usually distinguishes the quality level of the media, while Gold/Silver/Platinum/Black variants are among the best in quality, although like alot will tell you that some companies use their own colour schemes so it's difficult to tell sometimes if their Gold for example is a high quality media, basicly since you mentioned CDRW's, you should not have a problem getting one at Silver Grade, and it should work well on your DVD Player.
