Damaged Disc sounds like to me , check how clean it is , one greasy fingerprint is all it needs to stop a disc being read !

  3. likkletree, yea..i checked the bottom...pretty clean to me...also i was able to play the DVD regularly in winDVD

but..when i open smartripper, it unlocked everything in the DVD except for vts_01_01.vob..i have no idea what is going on because i can play the DVD perfectly fine..obviously my DVD-ROM must've been able to unlock vts_01_01.vob in order to play it in winDVD...any help guys?

likkletree, try to play the DVD on your computer with WINDVD. Then use smartripper.

    This may work.

Rather, play the DVD in WinDVD, PAUSE IT, then open SmartRipper. It should successfully unlock everything this way.

Something else I discovered by accident:

I was trying to rip a poorly authored piece of DVD porn, and the first vob remained locked. On my umpteenth try to get SmartRipper to read the disc, I accidentally clicked on both cladDVD and SmartRipper. cladDVD unlocked the disc without problem, but since SmartRipper opened right after cladDVD, it seemed cladDVD "enabled" SmartRipper to also fully unlock the disc. I try that for all the really difficult ones I get now from my favorite porn site.

By the by, theres a lot of badly authored DVD porn out there!

You should be able to rip sneakers with DVDDecrypter 3.0 or vStrip. The problem is, one or more VOB's are 1 gig in size, instead of the typical .99 gig. You can read more about the technical aspect of the problem at:

Version 3.0 was linked in the post I linked. Unfortunately lightning uk's dyndns is down. Try vStrip. And watch for a new version of dvddec at:

I do think the problem is a dirty dvd. I was able to rip vob's after several tries. Sometimes it would rip those sections extrememly slow. It was really having a hard time reading the data on the dvd. I dvd player was going nuts, especially when i used clad. Clad seemed to make the player jump more trying to read the data.

I'm problably way off on this but i thought i'd post seeings how you helped me out on The Rock. Good luck Poopy

  15. fyi...i tried ripping sneakers with dvddecryptor 3.0 and it worked

thnx for those of u who helped me...

btw...anyonw know if i have to worry about multiangles with dvddecryptor?

  16. just to let you guys know...DvdDecryptor 3.0 is able to rip 1.0 gig vob files.

also, it doesn't use aspi stuff like the lastest version of smartripper, so there's no worry about that.

also, when ripping these 1.0 gig vob files, the ripping speed is the same as ripping 0.99 gig vob files with smartripper (i was able to approach 7X).

only thing left to worry about is if DVDDecryptor 3.0 takes care of multiangles or not. i'm assuming it does cuz the previous versions did take care of it, i think (first time to use DVDDecryptor of any kind cuz i'm a die-hard smartripper person), but i would like to get confirmation on that from a die-hard DVDDecryptor person.
