Port. DVD w 4" Screen $197.00

WalMart.com has INITIAL portable DVD with 4" screen. $197.00. Claims to play DVD, CD-R, MP3 and includes 4 hr. battery. Can't find this brand anywhere. Does anyone have any idea who makes these? Trying to find out if it plays Terapin VCD's. Thanks.

Since it claims to play CD-R's, it'll probably plat the Terripins.

Reguardless, even if the manufacturer claimed it did, I'd still take a disc in to the store and try it out first.

I know you posted this a month ago but I found out something just recently about this player. I saw it for sale on ebay and emailed the seller to ask him if it did play vcd's. He replied and said it did and even offered to throw in some vcd's if I bought it. I'm not in the market because I'm so damn poor but if he's telling the truth, then I guess the dvd player would work for your terapins.

But there is a difference between "pressed" VCD's and burned DVD's.

Any DVD player can play pressed VCD's, but many have problems with home burned VCD's. If the player plays pressed VCD's, but not burned VCD's, he woulden't be lying.

I'm sorry I forget to mention, But I'm fairly sure that he was talking about burned cd's. I say this because the movies he offered to me if i bought it were stated as such. At any rate, if anyone buys it, let me know how it works.

Anyone know if this Initial unit plays DVD-R with MP3 on it? Still looking for a cheap car unit to play my DVD-R music collection...
