  1. for some reason when i burn out the svcd it pictures is fine but the sound is not smooth. Put the same svcd in my computer and watch it everything is fine. So i was just wondering if i format my hard drive (write zero first) would that take care of the problem? thanks

  2. Hmm.. i think you have choppy audio in youre standalone right ?

    Well... what is tha maximum bitrate your standalon eplayer is capable of...pc dvd-roms are mutch faster...

    so if your player is a 4 speed, you will have to stick to 4 * 150 = 600 KB/sec = 600 * 8 = 4600 Kbps Total...meaning including audio.

    if you use 224 Kbps for audio this means only 43xx for video available...

    This is a theorethical number, the acual max speed may be lower or higher. ALso don't use MP3 audio for your (x)(s)vcd's.... but MPEG I LAYER 2 or PCM.

    Your decoder in your standalone is not capable of decoding MP3 audio together with high bitrate video.

    It may also be that the cobination of audio/video bitrate is just a bit too high... audio will suffer first...after that video will suffer...depending on priority of standalone dvd player.

    So....in general...no MP3 audio and lower the bitrate...

    At first keep the standards....if this works try to tune.
