  1. Has anyone downloaded software from KaZaA? http://217.116.226.11/en/index.php Is there anything that I should be aware of?

  2. No, but as always with peer-to-peer downloads:

*Have your virus scanner updated, and running*
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. You might want to look for kaza lite. It doesn't give you all the fatting spyware. It really does exists.

  4. Very true. Download Kazaa LITE, then uninstall Kazaa. Run AdAware to root out the spyware that Kazaa installed, then install Kazaa LITE.

Is there anything that I should be aware of
    Yes,
1, The software you download may be illegal to use in your country
2, It may contain a Virus
3, It may be a fake, Diallers etc

  6. Well, if you mean the software itself. The only "spyware" you get is Cydoor. All it does is download those little banner ads at the bottom. But you can download a fake dll that stops all that and still lets the software work.

Now if you mean the stuff you DL itself, then 1. It may have a virus in it. 2. It is 90% chance illegal bootleg. 3 It could be damaged or modified and damage your system. 4 It may not be what it looks like, namely like someone else said a dialer or trojan. Just be wise when downloading, example if you are downloading WINXP it aint going to be 50KB in size. Its probably a virus.

Bottom line, ALL things you download wither from kazaa or other file trade site or the internet itself should be scanned.
