  1. Hi!

    Sorry about the newbie question.
    Letīs say Iīve downloaded a divx movie and would like to add subtitles.
    If I inderstood it correctly, this is only possible if subtitles were added when ripping the DVD. Am I right?
    My question: how do find out whether it is possible for me to add subtitles to the divx movie and then encode it.

    Iīd be greatful for an answer.

    If the DivX has permanent subtitles, it will be obvious. If it has switchable subtitles there will be some support files which are provided with the DivX. For example, if the subtitles are in Vobsub format, you will get a .sub and an .idx file together with the DivX. Other formats have diferent file extensions.

    To add subtitles yourself, you either need the subtitle files with the DivX, or there are sites which will let you download them, or you need to extract them from the DVD yourself.
