  1. I d/l a Friends episode from ng. Trying to burn SVCD. In Chapters tab,

Type MPEG2 [Motion Video - Audio Standard]
Video Stream Motion Video, 480x480, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 2450kbps

Number of possible chapter entry points: 1

Any ideas on why I can't add chapters to this? Thanks.

  2. The MPEG probably only has one MPEG Sequence Header (at the beginning). You need to have regular MPEG Sequence Headers (generally before each GOP header) if you want entrypoints.

  3. Is it possible to add "regular MPEG Sequence Headers " to this mpeg.

I tried using the mpeqsequencer that was on the vcdimage website, but it messed up the video.

  4. To be honest, I don't know. The MPEG Sequence Header tool was made to fix MPEG-1 streams. It probably won't work for MPEG-2...

I am not aware of any other tool that will do this for an MPEG-2 stream. You could try remuxing it with bbMPEG?

Otherwise, you are out of luck. If you encode your own MPEG-2 files for SVCD, make sure that it is set to put in a sequence header before each GOP (usually the default).

  5. Thanks for the info. I downloaded the mpeg from a newsgroup. I'll try your suggestion with bbmpeg.
