  1. I have created my first VCD files, but am having unusual lip synch problems.

The VCD plays fine in windows media player, but has synch problems on my DVD player.

The source MPEG plays fine in windows media player some of the time, but sometimes also has synch problems.

The synch is always out by the same amount.

This doesn't seem to be the same problem as in the FAQs. Can anyone help?

  2. Okay, now I've figured out that the sample VCDs on this site also play out of synch. That must be the player, right?

  4. As I said, the VCDs played fine on Windows. And thanks, but I read the audio synch guide and it wasn't the problem I had.

(Having said that, thanks for replying)

I took the player (a Limit 9090) back to the shop and got a Cambridge Audio DVD300. It plays perfectly in synch. So it seems it was the player.

  5. Yesterday I bought a Limit 9090 DVD player as above and tried creating a VCD and SVCD. I also found that I had sync problems and was a bit concerned by your post saying you returned your unit.
I went on to try a quick 20 second capture tonight and wrote it to SVCD but first trying the suggested http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=100617
This then played almost perfectly on my stand alone DVD. Just a pity it's a slow process.

  6. Sorry to reply to my own post.
My Limit DVD9090 is being returned to the shop today. Whilst playing some dvd the video appeared jerky, both region 1 & 2s. My mate gave me a vcd from a magazine and the audio sync is crap. I tried all on his machine and they were perfect.
So looks like the Limit 9090 should be avoided.
