Why do people share divx files and avi
Why when they covert them to mpg or a cue file why don't they just share them like that? I don't understand why you convert to avi anyway?
My cdrw burner only burns cue mpg files. Am I missing something.
Also when ripping a dvd is it necessary to convert or when it rips it does it automatically rip it as a cue file???
Thanks
Also
I ripped a movie and it produced two cue files, one of the cue files is too big any way to shorten it or to get it to fit on one cd, the other cue file is perfect.

DivX is more efficient compression.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
but the quality is not as good.
Hey do you know how to burn a cue file that is too big???? what can i do -
that depends on your settings and the quality of the video source, if you rip a dvd to DivX you can get fantastic picture quality and small file sizes...much smaller than if you were to create an MPEG file

Oh, great, a DivX debate...
Me, I love the compression of DivX, and I can remember stumbling across some AWESOME encodes on the 'net, one so good I make an SVCD out of it, even though we already had the VHS (Shrek)...
But, when I watch stuff encoded in DivX, I am totally resigned to the fact that blocks will be everywhere.
For my money, MPEG-2 tends to look better consistantly, I have a much better idea of what something will look like at X bitrate.
I just wish if people DO encode DivX, that they all do it right (I haven't figured it out, and I'm in great company!) -
I'll tell you why because people are dumb, that is why. They sould just leave them as bin\cue files but they have this problem with messing things up. And I'm talking about Screeners not from
DVD->Divx. DVD->Divx is just fine because it is a smaller file than a mpg. -
