  1. hello,

I just want to know how to change .rm files to .avi files?

One more question, will the performance be the same after changing?

    thanks

  2. Look at those "how to" links on the left. As for the second question, there's not enough information to form an answer.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

well it depends on whta method you use, some work better then others. it also depends on the bitrate and resolution. remember the video wont look better, if anything itll look a bit worse. rm files are pretty crappy to begin with... dont expect a miracle.

try eo video, it should be in the tools section. its not free but i find it to be the best. its really slow (it takes 3 seconds to convert one second of rm video) but hey , itll give you good results.

  5. I got the EO free trail version.

ouch, this EO video thing isn't so easy to use.(i got some trouble to do things right when i was trying to convert .rm to .avi.) Plus English isn't my primary lauguage. I do need a little help. Please tell me step by step if anyone has time.

And also, are you sure that 1 second .rm needs 3 seconds to convert? Doesn't it depend on the hardware? I mean the processor, RAM, HD speed, etc., I have a P4 2.54GHZ(overclocked from 1.8A) + 512MB Corsair PC3200 DDR400 + 120GB 8MB cache WD SE, won't it be able to convert faster than on slower computer?
