Ok this might be way off topic here but I need some help. I have a 300 gig PC that I would liek to use as a server . Im running adv server 2000 on teh machine. Does anyone know how to set up a server or configure win adv server. I'm using D2g as my domain I already got an FTP set up but I would like to set up a website for the graphics. I already have the webpage made on my server but i need to know how to link it to the net. i know htis is a long shot or me just pissing in the wind but if you know pls help...

I'm not exactly an expert but, you could do one of two things. 1. Just give out the IP of your machine and have your server set up to serve people off of it. Or you can register a domain and have it route to your machine that way your addy could be something like (www.myvcds.com) instead of 259.45.34.56.(Just an example!!)


BUT I will say, be very careful if you are hosting hollywood movies.If you have a few hundred Gigs of movies, you are a HUGE target for attack by the MPAA. ONLY GIVE THE ADDY TO THOSE YOU REALLY TRUST!
