DO I NEED TO CONVERT TO MPEG2 BEFORE CONVERT TO SVCD?

or i just convert directly to svcd? if that is so what is mpeg2 is use for ?

SVCD format IS mpeg-2, you cannot have a complaint SVCD in mpeg-1 or any other video format.

A forum is here for a reason, to allow people to ask questions they need answers to; a forum is not a place for people to ask inane questions such as the ones being posted by people like guevi who type www.vcdhelp.com into their browser, let the page load, and then automatically jump right to the forum link and start throwing out questions regardless of whether or not they looked up the answer for themselves first or even know what they are asking.

The Moderator's at this site saw this problem and were nice enough to create several NEWBIE sections for these people to post in, and yet they still manage to saturate the other forums with NEWBIE questions.
