    im trying to capture with my cyberextreme pci branchtree card, and i keep getting this error in a pop-up dialog box.

    "This software requires the use of DirectDraw driver from your VGA manufacturer. Your current graphic card settings seems do not support this feature. Pleaes update your VGA card's driver!"

    what gives?

    my video card is a voodoo3 3000 agp. it used to work, and nothing i know of has changed since. my operating system is windows 2000.

  4. And to elaborate a little bit, some video cards support versions of DirectX differently. Older cards might not support the latest version, which I think is 8.1 or thereabouts.

    You can either get the huge download of DirectX (including Direct Draw) from Evil Empire #3's web site, http://www.microsoft.com, or you can usually find the latest version on recent computer game CD's. In fact, the game will sometimes install its version for you as you install the game.

    You can also check how well DirectX works on your system with a built-in tool in Windows. Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information, pull down the TOOLS menu on the System Information screen, and select DirextX Diagnostic Tool.
