I just bought the ATI TV Wonder VE and would like some advice on anything I should do to get the best quality when using it. (like getting drivers or recording tips, ect...)
I am also having trouble with sound. I have my DVD player hooked up with the video connected to the composite and the sound connected directly to the sound card.
I hooked my DVD player up and started recording a movie but the sound isn't that great. I recorded the movie again using Windows Movie Maker and the sound is a little better but still sounds bad. You can hear it fine but there is a metallic sound in it and has a slight echo like sound in some parts. And when the sound gets louder, like a gun shot, it sounds like an iron pipe being drug across a cement slab. (best i can describe it, if anyone has downloaded the tmd version of Ice Age, that is how it sounds) It sounds good when recording, it only sounds like that during playback. When I record MP3s the music sounds fine so do I need a new sound card or do I need new drivers?
I have winXP, AMD Athlon XP processer 1600+, 256mb syncdram, 40gb ultra dma, 3d agp graphics s3 savage4 pro
Thanks to anyone willing to help

Record MP3 from where? You have to test your line in and make sure that your sound card is not whacked.
Use a wave recording app and hook up, say, VCR's line out sound to your card's line in. Record a wave and see what you get. Maybe you get feedback because your line-in or record level is too high. It does not sound like it but try playing with your sound card's line in and record levels.
