I use Pinnacle DV500 to capture both analog and digital video. The finished (edited) piece is output as a Pinnacle AVI, using (I believe) the dvsd codec. Afterwards, I have all kinds of problems in TMPGEnc when converting to MPEG2 for DVD. Even Cleaner doesn't like some of these AVIs. A certain file actually just goes black in TMPGEnc after about 6 minutes. That is, if I watch the conversion taking place in the preview window, the video disappears but TMPGEnc continues to encode. Mostly, TMPGEnc crashes altogether. In Cleaner, the same AVI turns to a greean chroma bleed at the same spot after viewing the finished MPEG2. The AVI itself looks fine though. Any thoughts or suggestions on which codec I should use for AVI output (e.g. Cinepak, Indeo, etc) before trying to convert in TMPGEnc? Thanks in advance.
Ed
