Apex AD1100w Assistance needed. Thanks.

I have a few questions concerning the Apex AD1100W dvd player.
The player is about 1 month old.

I got the Apex AD1100W and when I play a particular SVCD it freezes. What happens is when a new chapter is about to play, it freezes. I do not know how to solve this problem except by rewinding and then playing a second or two back in the svcd. When I play the svcd on the computer, it plays fine but the audio "crackles" a bit, and it does not when I use the DVD player.
If in fact this is a problem with the svcd, how can I redo the svcd to make that chapter problem go away?

Also, could somebody please tell me how to get the subtitles to work. I tried clicking on the Subtitle button but that hand shows up and I really can 't do much from there on.

What exactly is PBC and how can you disable it? And is it good to disable it?

I had an Apex Ad-1100W that also froze up on SVCD. Do what I did,return it and buy a Daewoo DVD-5800. Much better player and can also easily be made macro free.
