  2. Trial and Error pretty much i'm afraid.........

What works for someone else may not work for you.

Personally I use Datasafe discs and have not had a problem yet.
    £18 for 100.

I used to use (for the same price...) Precision unbranded. They just had a silver coating on,but with these the coating peeled off eventually and that was the end of the disc.Very annoying if you have deleted it from your HDD and have to download again.

Also the cheaper unbranded ones tend to lose their integrity so to speak and the discs may become unreadable over a shorter time than branded.

Look for branded discs if you can, these are generally better quality.

Also look for the write speed rating.

For the sake of £5.00 or $5.00 or whatever it is then you usually will have less problems.

But saying that it may depend on your writer..........

Trial and Error pretty much i'm afraid....................

  3. Verbatim are a little higher in cost but they have 100% success out of the like 200 I have made. Also TDK are a great brand.

  4. I use Laser 700MB CD-R. Good brand, low failure rate and seem to hold data and video well. Can get them for $37(Australian) for a 100 Spindle.

Other than those Verbatim is probably the best I found. Also Taiyo Yuden are an excellent brand.
