  1. I want to build a pc that I can use to copy and burn my vcr tapes to dvd.
    Maybe play some games too. Any body have some input for me as to which mobo ,cpu etc. to look for?

    I know its not always possible to buy the best, money can be a big factor, however in the long run, it pays not to buy until you can afford it. Buying cheap in the hope it will do the job will only make you regret you had not waited a little longer.

    At the time I built the P4 1.6 they were a lot more, today I could buy a 2.5G P4 for the same price I paid for the 1.6 Its never worth upgrading anything you have for a year or more, by then new motherboards are better etc. My next upgrade usually every year or so, will be a P5 10G

    Building your own is always a lot lot cheaper, and you get better quality components.
