  1. Hi

I have a Samsung 511 and am keen to burn my own VCDs.

I have managed to get one to work using NEro and TDK CDRW but its very flaky. you have to hold the play button until it plays and the playback can be very blocky.

Im i the UK and keen to hear from other owners and learn what type of discs they have found to be successful.

And how successful their results are. I.e. blocky palyback, and being able to fastforward through movies without "loosing" the disc.

    Thanks for your help.

Just to let you know, the way i "do things" is to first get the movie. Then i use TMPGenc (or whatever its called) to convert it to PAL VCD using the template provided. Then i use Nero via its wizard thing to burn the VCD. This should work.

i have borrowed a VCD from a friend that worked fine on his machine built in the same way and that didnt work.

I have read the boards and the compatability charts and some people "claim" to get the 511 to play burnt VCDs fine.

    Thanks

    Sam

  2. I used to have a samsung 511 but got rid of it. I too used TDK CDRW and they played OK-ish with some problems. Basically I dont think this machine is very good with home-made VCD's on computer burnt media (i.e., not factory pressed).

Sorry I couldn't be more positive
