  1. hello all,

been posting quite a few questions lately as I and friend of mine are new to dvdripping. I used smartripper to extract vob's using sefy's guide. after I get the vob's the first vob has a filesize of 0 kb. what does that mean? I can play all of the other vob's and they seem to be fine.
    any help is appreciated.

  2. That means the author added a blank PGC to a Title and then added real content PGS as chapters inside a pro authoring app like scenarist.
No problem, just skip the blank vobs. Sometimes they use a flowers photo or something like that. It's done when authoring without having the final compressed video yet. In pro authoring, you use pointers instead of files OR you use a preview quality mpeg to start while someone else does the high quality compression.

  4. I've seen this problem with a few movies, Smart Ripper for some reason overwrites the first VOB file with the last VOB file and trashes the whole thing

I Suggest you try using a different Ripper, maybe DVD Decryptor or CladDVD XP
