    hello,

i have read a guide on doom9 that says, "There's no need to limit the max bitrate." in the 'options' dialog on the right side.. however I've read in other guides that when this box is checked, it allows VBR, whereas when it is not checked, it's a CBR?

could some guru please clue me in? i recently transcoded fight club without checking this box, and i had macroblocks in some parts of the dvd. very frustrating. my avg bitrate was set to around 4.1kb/s

    thanks,

    kyle

i hate to *bump* this up, butttt...

also, along with the question about when i check 'limit max bitrate' shifting to VBR, does anyone know what some of the other settings do?

actually, where is the *HOMEPAGE* of rempeg? i'd love to get an email to the author if at all possible..

    k.
