    Hey, my mom got one of these crappy players, is there a region hack for it that actually works yet? I've been searching and so far, nothing works. (Power On, PAUSE+3+1+4+1+5+9 does not work, the CODE? prompt is never displayed...)

    Hope you guys can help!

    Try search in net for BRAND and MODEL of DVD Player.
    Ex.: "Alba DVD 106"
    It worked for me with a BLUEsky DS-8315

    By the way, what is region, please explain what region stands for.

    That's what I have been doing... And I have found loads of hacks for the older models, (none of which will work on this later model).

    b.t.w. This is a region 2 model that I wish to play region 1 movies, and also some vcd's on.

    The following page contains a definition of dvd regions, DVD Explained , not sure why I should have to explain what regions are, surely, you are joking right?
