Hey this is my first post on the board. Hello all, I have a question about the Pioneer DV-333. I'm looking to purchase this player because it's been getting really good reviews. Like the topic states, can it play SVCD with subtitle? I read the player stats, and it says it does, but then one reviewer said it didn't....So can anybody who has a DV-333 tell me if it can play SVCD with subtitles?

I have a Pioneer DV333 and it plays cd-r/rws of any brand.
I made home made vcds, no menus and tried making the same as svcd, again no menus because i don't know how to do that yet. Anyway, they both play fine. Hope this helps. -
Well... I have a Pioneer 343 and i think it's great. I dont know if it plays SVCDs with subtitles that can be turned on/off cause i don't how to do that. Do you?
But you can make SVCDs with subtitles in the video (but i think this is not what are you looking for) -
In theory you can make a SVCD with up to 4 different subtitle tracks. The only program that I know of to do this thou (I-Author) isn't being distrubited anymore (or only in China I forget).
Clearly if the subtitles are part of the MPEG file then any player will play them.
