  1. how can i configure DHCp to never expire IP leases. The expirations really mess up my network. Win Xp Pro/ WinNT Server

  2. If its configured by your ISP there is nothing you can do. They control that stuff as far as I know. You should have my ISP ATTBI, I have had the same IP for over a year! Four day lease my ass

    if your referring to an internal network, use computer name instead of ips. like if there is a computer called ntserver and a computer named safediskkiller, then suppost theres a share on one. instead of \\192.168.0.3 use \\ntserver.....the names never change

  4. I am referring to an internal network. i know and do use the names but once the lease expires it expires on all computer including the DHCP server. This means that the LAN connection to the internet will search for DNS DHCP host IP's that no longer exist hence no internet connection is made on anything except the DHCP computer. That is the real problem...i would not care if my IP changes on the ingternet but the internal network change kills connections. Anywayz the ip's expire and i have to re-make my network every 3 or so days. if i could just tell DHCP to stop the stupid leases then all would be fine. any ideas? netgear products only used
