is there a way to make my dvd player play burned cd's and vc

i have a sony dvp s360 dvd player and it will not play burned cd's or vcd's. i know there is a way to get into the diagnostics menu by pressing title, clear, then power. does anyone know if there is a way to change something in that diagnostics menu so i can play burned cd's and vcd's?

i don't believe there is anything you can do...short of replacing your dvd player.

the thing is, is that sony dvd players typically only play pressed dvds and cds...nothing in between. i believe it has something to do with the reflectivity of the cd-r discs or something.

but check it out. you can pick up an apex at yer local stores for about 60 bucks and it will play everything but vinyl....

time to get a second dvd player?

a word of advice i had same problem i bought the apex1500 dvd player it plays anything i mean anything dvd vcd svcd mp3 burned vcd movies buy it save yourself aggravation its under 90 bucks
