I'm having a problem playing a cdr-vcd in my Sanyo DVD-7201. Normally it plays them just fine but I have a disc that works fine on the pc but not on the dvd player. The player identifies it as a vcd and displays the number of tracks and the total running time, but when I press play it palys for about 2 seconds and then just stops. Could it have something to do with NTSC/PAL or playback control? Is it possible to burn a copy of this disc that will work? Any help is appreciated.

Need more info on how you made VCD, software, ETC. Could be bad disk?
May the force be with you. -
Actually this is a vcd that I got from someone else so I really have no clue...

I was having the exact same problem Yesterday. I still do. I don't know what it is, because I'm a complete newbie with VCD's. My guess is the resolution is wrong? Dont trust me though, I'm probably WAY off
... I have a few home videos I want to convert to VCD's, but I don't want to waste my time if they're not going to work.
Any help on this? -
al_jenson,
You may want to copy the '*.dat' file (in the MPEGAV folder?) to your pc, rename it to 'whatever.mpg'. If it plays fine on the PC, just go ahead and re-burn with whatever you use. If not, then there's a problem with either the *.dat file or with the CD.
I've done this plenty of times with excellent results. However, there are some on the forum who would say that you need to process the *.dat file with another prog(?) to make it an actual *.mpg. I myself have never had to do this.Have a good one,
neomaine

I just copied the DAT file, and it works just fine on my Computer.
This is my 2nd Copy which isn't working. I use NERO to burn it. Could there be anything else that could be causing a problem... such as bad CD-R's?
Thanks.
