I have a Canon ZR40 DV cam which I've been using with various tools to make some decent SVCDs. However, I started to look into some of the details of the files I was pulling down from the cam, and this is what I find:
Video format: (dvsd) miroVIDEO DV 300
Width x Height: 360 x 240 pixels
Now, I thought DV was higher resolution than this. ?! More like 720x480. I'm not given an option in Pinnacle, Ulead, MovieXone, DVIO, MainActor, etc for resolution, or settings, and they all produce the same. Is this right??
How can my SVCD/DVD pics look better than VCD if they all are coming from the same lowest-common-denominator size? I know the compression might be a bit better, but it should look worse being scaled up 4X to 720x480...
I've checked the FAQs, etc, and no real guidance.
Thanks in advance.
