  1. Hello everyone,

I am new to DVD creation, I am about to export a 1 hour video project onto DVD and want to use the best media possible (in the $5 range) for compatability, durabilty, price, and visual quality.. (or a healthy compramise of the 4)

I have the Pioneer A04/104 (whichever the retail version is =])

    thanks for all your help!

If you're going out of your way to make sure it's the best, the Apple DVD-R media fits the bill.

Still, I use $2 PrimeDiscs and they burn nicely at 2x and work in anything the Apple media works in. So your mileage may vary. Primediscs aren't common, so your only choice may be the $5 fruities.

    That's an interesting point

I now use only Apple media since it comes in 5x blocks and is cheaper than Pioneer, that is $5 each. Both are very good, however. If you spend time working on your project make sure that the disk does not die on you someday so spend a couple of dollars more. Don't listen to 99-cent people

Digitizer, have you been to the year 2102?

Any advice on which stocks to avoid in 2010?

  7. digitizer does have a good point.. I know this holds true for CDs, using cheap disks usually results in failure.. not of the burn, but the physical disk.. I've had cheap CDs deterirate in my hands...

  8. Exactly, schmiddie. I've seen media stop working all of a sudden, and we are talking branded disks, not "100 for 5 dollars deal". 1 or 2 bucks for 4.3 gigs, you KNOW it ain't gonna last.
