  1. As I posted earlier, when I try to view (record) video from my stand-alone DVD player, I get purple lines thru my picture which inevitably show up in the MPEG2 example:

It is more noticable when reds are on the screen, and you gotta look good at these stills. Parts of the U2 concert are in B&W and the purple lines Do NOT appear, only during the color portions. During FMV, it is very apparent. I am using composite. I tried s-video. Still, the same thing.
I DO NOT get this problem when watching The Matrix

, nor when I feed video from VCR, just my DVD player.

I got this problem when trying to view (record) rentals of
Dragonball Z coolers revenge and Gladiator. I didn't try From Hell or MIB. I am puzzled as to why The Matrix doesn't give me this problem. No settings were changed. Just stuck the different movie in and I get no problems with The Matrix.

I tried using VXD drivers and Virtual Dub, and CaptV and got the same problem.

I am using an AverTV PCI capture card, Abit Siluro GForce 3/Ti (latest drivers for both)

Is there a Codec that could help? I'm new to the use of codecs with video capture. I'm at a loss.

  2. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the DVD player itself. I installed a different capture card (voodootv) using vxd drivers, and still get the purple lines. So, thanks for looking in any attempts to help.
