I am testing converting DVD to XVCD becaus ethe VCD dont look good for me and the SVCD ist to big, i dont want more than 2 cd´s for a 100 min movie.

I have read a lot of XVCD, and so i am begin with DVDX and the lsx plugin.
I have testet a lot or resoltution and than the 480x576 works on my DVD-player.

    Video Bitrate 1600 kb/s
    Audio Bitrate 192 kb/s
    motion search low
multoplexing audio and video in the ligos plugin.

Than burrned to a non standard VCD with Nero, works on the pc but on the stand alone player,i can see only see the movie at the half size on my TV.
So i burnned to a non standard SVCD becaus eof the resolution and than it works great on my pionner dvd player and good image quality and can thak about 110 min of movie to fit in 2 cd´s.

But when i skip forward,i can hear no audio because i think the stream is lost,

Is there any way to get it to work?
when i dont skip it plays perfectly in in sync but after skiping

  2. I play SVCD's on my Panasonic by using the TmpGenc multiplexing trick to persuade the player they are VCD. (It doesnt support SVCD). They play fine but after FF or RW I get no audio. Pressing pause then play causes the audio to return and in sync. Try it, it might help!

But the lsx plugin does already multiplexing!!!

or should i use simply multiplex with tmpgenc???

My player could play VCD and SVCD all works great but with my XVCD there ist the problem, i have burned them in Nero to a non standard SVCD so that the ratio is correct on the T.V.

  4. What I was trying to say was this, you XSVCD looks fine and plays OK on your player, thats great, but when you Fast Forward you lose the audio. Am I correct so far? I have the same issue with my Panasonic player with non-standard VCD's. After FF, pressing Pause then play causes the audio to return. Maybe this will work for you.

Don't worry about multiplexing, I was just explaining how I got SVCD's to play on a player that doesnt support that format.
