I'm much happier now. Using my Dazzle DVC2 is always great except for using MovieStar to trim, join, etc. It is slow and clumsy. For VCD files, I was able to use MyFlix 3, which is very fast and accurate.
But I was stuck doing MPEG2 in Moviestar.
I just bought MyFlix XE, and now I have the same benefits of MyFlix for MPEG2! The upgrade is a bit expensive, but the time it will save me makes it worth it. One more of the last great pains of making DVDs is now gone.
Anyne here have any caveats or experience with problems I should know aout ith MyFlix XE? It's been fine for me so far...

Don't know about XE, but when I used MyFlix V3 it made a non standard bitrate stream, which needed to be corrected later before it could be used for a VCD
Edit
VCD mpeg in > Non standard VCD mpeg out
Drop file into Nero, Easy CD etc, get warning. -
KingJohn,
I think I've run into the same thing, but Nero is always VERY fussy about VCD files. I've had no complaints from DVD Workshop, though.
I have run into 2 problems with MyFlix XE though.
1. It can't deal with VBR. I had a VBR max 8000kbps file, trimmed it slightly, and ended up with a 8000kbps CBR file about twice the size. I've emailed mediaware.
2. I loaded a Dazzle DVD MPEG2 file and it freaked out MyFlix. Took forever to load, and then no sound. Media Player had no problem with it. Strange. -

TMPGEnc merge and cut might fix the problem, its been a long time since I "Dumped" MyFlix that I forget what I did at the time. I wouldn't use Nero to fix the problem, that would be even worse. -
Luckily, most of my Dazzle files do finally load. But what I do is a slight trim and then save with MyFlix. That seems to clean up a lot of problems, and the files become much more easily editable. The files even behave better in DVDWorkshop after that.
Also, even though the resulting files are 8000kbps CBR, when I author the DVD in DVDWorkshop, I set it for 8000kbps max VBR and it brings the VOB files back down to a reasonable size, with no lengthy conversion time. Go figure.
So, even after all that, it's still better than using MovieStar. But that's no great claim.
