Your CPU may be inducing a thermal protection shutdown. If your using something like TMPGEnc, it is very demanding on the CPU running at 100%. If your mobo is fairly recent, it will have a threshhold set to shut down the system on overheat. If you have a Hardware Monitor check the settings, you may be able to bump it up a few degrees. If you don't have an HM, get one applicable to your mobo. What may help you, if overheat is the case, is to take off the side panel of your case and use a small fan for cooling. Not the best method but it will get you through until you put your finger on the problem.

If the chipset is a BX (440 I presume), then I believe the CPU is failing due to thermal stress. I no of no hardware monitor for this chipset nor is there a "stress relief" method that I could suggest. Hopefully, someone else here may have ideas.
