    Recently purchased a Mintek 1600 (BTW - very satisfied). Noticed that the general setup menu has an extra line, when the tray is open, labeled "preferences". Under this subheading is the "location" option, which seems to allow setting the region ("USA" "GBR" "JAPAN", etc.). Does this do what I hope it does?

    Additionally the setup menu offers a "video" option which allows you to specify "auto" (default), "high res", and "Jitterfree". Any ideas what these do?

    I don't know, but.....

    I tried region setting on my Mintek 2580 and it is not what you were hoping
