  1. Hi,

I'm trying to create some VCDs to play on a Philips VCD player I bought 4 years ago in Asia. However, it doesn't recognize the CDs I've created. Can someone tell me a configuration that worked for you, i.e. CD type (R, RW) and brand, software used to create MPG, software used to burn the CD?

    Thanks

FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD ALL PHILIPS PLAYERS ARE NOTORIOUSLY FIKKLE WHEN PLAYING CDR. EVEN IF YOU MANAGE TO FIND MEDIA THAT WILL PLAY PEOPLE I KNOW WHO HAVE HAD THEM REPORT MANY PLAYBACK PROBLEMS FROM SKIPPING TO PAUSING ETC AND THEIR MACHINES WERE NO WHERE NEAR AS OLD AS THE ANTIQUE YOUV'E GOT THERE SO MY ADVICE TO YOU AS ITWAS TO THEM... BIN IT AND GET A NEW ONE BECAUSE PRICES NOW HINDER NO-ONE AND MANY MANY BUDGET PLAYERS PLAY EVERYTHING , MP3 CDR CDRW ETC ETC.

Unlike DVD players, VCD players have not problem in reading any brand of CDR. I think that it is the way you burn the VCD. Follow the instructions on HOW TO AUTHOR at the left haand side of the sccreen.

  4. Iīve tried the same CD on a DVD from a friend and it worked, so itīs something else. Although buying a DVD itīs certainly an option, Iīd like to see it working on my good old VCD player, itīs much easier to carry and actually runs on batteries . So, if someone has ever put it to work, please let me know how so I can test it, and I'll put the results on the forum.
