  1. All.

Recently I friend of mine told me he saw the first DVD clone( a direct copy of a DVD). With prices of DVD writers coming down and speeds going up I predict that more of us will be making DVD by Jan 2003. Already I see that smart ripper supports DVD backups and I predict more DVD software will be around by the end of this year. So with all that in mind perhaps we should prepare forums on making DVD's.

  2. A lot of people on this forum are already making DVD's. But as for direct "clone" copy's that is still not possible for dual layer discs (as there is no dual layer writable format), and most discs fall into this category.

A dual layer disc can hold upto 9.4GB of data, current writable formats can only hold upto 4.7GB.
