  1. Hi,

As my subject suggests, I have an SVCD which is GREAT quality but has no chapters menu's etc..

I want to grab the video in it's pristine condition and make a new SVCD that I can add chapters and menu's to.

How would I go about doing this?

    Thanks,

Don't know about menus, but for chapters (and I guess that once you extract the .MPG, you can add menus, too...):
    1. copy the 'AVseq01.mpg" file from the SVCD 'mpegav' folder to your hard drive
    2. load it into VCDEasy
    3. create desired chapters
    4. burn new svcd

  3. Thanks, that worked great.

One problem. How can I get VCDEasy to create a SVCD that supports the resume feature?

  4. The resume stop feature on many DVD players is a player specific feature, not a S/VCD one.

On the VCD/DVD players that I have seen, the resume stop feature only works for S/VCDs if you:
    1. playback the S/VCD without PBC interpretation
    2. or it must be playing a <playlist> as opposed to a <selection>

With how "chapters" are authored on S/VCDs, it must use PBC interpretation and <selection> is much better than <playlist>. The reasons for this are here: http://www.vcdimager.org/guides/chapters.html#selection_or_playlist

In short, there is no way of creating chapters and using the resume stop feature on your DVD player without compromising the functionality of the chapters.
