  3. I was thinking about getting the Apex NEW portable but the thought of it breaking scares me. So i will be getting the Audiovox 1680 for only $400 on the navy base tommarrow. I will be saving $150 to $200 compaired to other stores with the high cost, shipping and tax close to $530 at Target if i were to puchase it there or Amazon, ext. But unforunally your is the cheapest price that i have came buy.

    other sites and Audiovox 1500:

    1. Ecost $ 380

    2. PC mall $380
    http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?DPNo=970919&adcampaign=email,zwb11938

Some things i have found out about the 1500:

    1. Short battery life 2hr 2min (movies are somtimes longer and if your travinling without a wall socket or car plug it can become a problem)
    2. You can plug a camcorder a game system (i.e. PSone with battery back, etc)

the 1680 for $400 sounds real good for a portable...specs:The Audiovox D1680 is a portable DVD Player, it features a 6.8" Screen, Internal Stereo Speakers and Headphone Jack, Virtual Surround (Q Surround), it plays DVD/VCD/SVCD/CD/CD-R/MP3. It includes a Lithium Ion Battery Pack and has 3 hrs. Playback Time. (1700has a 7 in screen) They all make reference to RCA video/audio conectors. One say it has in, another says out....so hard to tell there.

  10. Well I finally got a summer job so I will probably get the 1700 or 1680. Basically the only difference is the screen size.
