Playing SVCDs on Philips Magnovax 825 DVD player

Hello, I'm having trouble playing SVCDs with my PHilips Magnavox 825
DVD player, I burned the SVCD from a an image file and have burned
it with CDRWIN on a CompUSA CDRW cd at speed 4x. When I insert it,
it says reading, but then opens up the tray and doesn't play????

Do u know what could be wrong

I was also wondering how to upgrade my firmaware and what difference
does it make if I do?

also the image file I burned has 2 tracks in it, and I have burned
with track at once as an option, I have burned the SVCD

i have the same player and had the same problems you do. what you need to do is update the firmware. its very easy and involved burning a small img file to a cd and inserting it.

there is a website that explains it, i dont remember where it is but try google and its probably somewhere on this site too
