I have a movie, encoded w/ the King Viper Temp in TMPGEnc, and it plays fine on the PC, when I burn it, it wont play on my DVD player ? DVD Is an Apex 1200 and it plays SVCD's, though when I burn w/ Nero I need to turn off compliance, as it says I should use MPEg1 ? Am I missing something ? where am I screwing this up ? (Hopefully just Newbie error ?)

I am a newbie also, however, I have been reading (actually scouring) this site for the last 3 months.
Using what I have read from the other sites, I am thinking that the issue is that the CD is not being burned as compliant Cd and a lot of DVD players (stand alone) will not play non compliant VCD's (it is what has been referred to as Xvcd).
My limited experience tells me that you should probably split the movie between two CD's if you want to keep the same bit rate (bit rate seems to the BIG thing when deciding if it is in compliance or not - stand alone DVD players can't handle higher bit rates).
I'd check out the guides to the left of the page under newbie and author and it may give you more insight to what may be wrong...course, being a fellow newbie, I might be blowing smoke out my rear....
