I just purchased this model to quiet the kids in the car and take on vacation. So far so good. BUT have a discovered a problem.
First let me say I have read and searched for 2 days on information on this model regarding what I feel is a Macrovision problem. Sa far I have found no answers.
I can play commercial DVDs, commercial VCD (from VideoVan), self made VCDs and self created SVCD just fine, while using the units LCD screen, BUT when I connect the unit to my TV with the supplied cable(RCA type yellow, red, white), try to play a commercial VCD or one I have made, I get black/white rolling images (Macrovision behavior I assume). I thought the unit was bad so I inserted and played a commercial DVD with no problem on the unit or on the TV. The VCDs attempted to play were made with NERO's VCD template. I plan on testing a VCDEASY VCD tonight.
I read through the manual and it discusses macrovision and connecting the unit to a VCR or such to dub a movie. Nothing a connecting to a TV for usage.
So my question is:
Can a video stabalizer help? (such as the Sima unit @ bestbuy)?
Will connecting it through a RF modulator help?
Will the region hack listed for this model help?
Can I somehow place macrovision on my VCD to trick or fake the unit with a file or something?
Or... open to any suggestions
Hope someone can help, got a vacation with the kids in a week and REALLY need some advice or solution.
Sorry for the length, but wanted to include details.
