I'm trying to burn a copy of a movie by using Nero Burning Rom.
The files were intially of Mpeg 4 format (that's what it says under the file properties). I used Virtual Dub to get the audio, then I used TMPG to to make the MPG.
If I play the file on my PC it works fine. However, when I try to set Nero up to burn a VCD I get an error saying that it needs format Mpeg-1. I used Nero to reencode the file(s)...however when I play the VCD in my dvd player, the audio isn't in sync with the picture.
The frame rate on the files is 20 FPS...could this be the problem? Do I need to convert the original files to Mpeg-1? If so...how?
Thankx...

In the Convert section of the "HOW TO" area search for how to convert Divx (MPEG4) to MPEG1 (there are many ways). Then Nero can burn the MPEG1 VCD.
Best way: Look at Virtualdub (freeware) & follow guide withs eparating audio into a WAV and rejoining later. You can use the free TMPGenc MPEG encoder to join the AVI and the WAV and encode to MPEG (select the VCD template). www.vurtualdub.org www.tmpgenc.netPanasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
Kitty, the steps you have mentioned are the ones that I have done and I'm still getting this issue.
Could it have something to do with the 20fps? Using TMPG, there is no option for a frame rate that low. -
Try to change the frame rate in virtualdub
