  1. Hello all,

Does Ulead DVD Workshop 1.0 support XVCD creation?

I know Ulead DVD Movie Factory does, but want to know if
    DVD Workshop does.

    Thanks,

    DVDWorkShop does not support XVCDs.

  3. Bummer. Seems like Ulead is totally lame. DVD Movie Factory supports XVCD but doesn't properly handle chapters (entrypoints), and DVD Workshop doesn't support XVCD at all. Looks like they need some serious help with their product management.

Well, ULEAD is far from perfect, but I use the Movie Factory with xVCD and entry points all the time. What doesn't work with your entry points?

  5. What doesn't work is the following:

When you have a single lomg MPEG file and you want to create chapters/entrypoints such that each chapter has a menu item, you cannot use the remote to go to the next chapter. You need to return to the menu and then select the next chapter manually. Also, when a chapter has completed playing, Movie Factory goes back to the menu rather than playing through to the next chapter. Well known behavior that others have complained about here in this forum. DVD Movie Factory is fine when each chapter is its own MPEG file, but not when the chapters represent chapters within a single MPEG file. Note that VCDEasy handles this correctly, but does not support menus.

    Thanks,

I hear ya. Guess I'm still amazed that this stuff works and so I tend to be happy with behavior thats just predictable! You already mentioned my other suggestion which is to make the chapters separate files. I still like the ULEAD product for offering a good group of features at a reasonable price.

    vcddude,

One other thing, I found this weekend that Ulead does handle the entry points properly in the DVD format. I can jump forward and backward by using "Next" "Previous" within a multiple entry point file.
