  1. I was hoping that someone can help me. I have downloaded many movie files from the internet. Most are in .avi or .mpg format. The problem is that they are all about 720+ mb and wont fit on a 700mb cd-r using Ahead Nero to burn the VCD. does anyone have any idea how I can take a 770mb avi or mpg and shrink it to fit on the cdr?

    Also, does anyone know any good links for 800mb cd-r's that you can purchase online?? Any help would be appreciated here. Thanks in advance.

    mrmojo448,

    there's plenty of links over to your left:
    * WhatIs
    * HOWTO
    * Other, etc.

    Anayws, about the only thing I can recommend is you have to re-encode
    those files to a VCD. You did say they are .avi mostly. these are prob.
    divX files. You'll have problems along the way with this, but if you must,
    than you'll have to re-encode to a VCD, and probably have to SPLIT the
    file into two (two cd's)

    Well, that's one way that I know how. Course, I wouldn't waist my time
    with these divX files cause there not that good a quality. I've done a few
    of these myself. So, i can say that. Do expect those re-encodes to look
    worse. GIGO!!

    Sooner or later, you'll see this, and what something better. The answer
    to you will be to DO YOUR OWN capturing and encoding (VCDs) and be
    proud of the quality you got, based on your current knowledge (which is
    not much at this time)

    It's not going to be easy, but can be done. So, expect many hours of
    re-encoding. Hope you have a FAST pc, say, 1.2Ghz or better at least.
    R U ready for all of this? If so, good luck

    a 700MB(80 min) CDR will hold over 800 MB of VCD data. so, if you are having trouble getting Nero to burn a 720MB VCD file, either enable overburning, or use VCDeasy to make an image, and burn the image
