I have got an SVCD and want to copy it, but, the file size of the SVCD is 797MB, I have just gone out and got some 800MB CD-R's but my PC is still saying that there is only 702MB of free space. The SVCD's that the original is on says on the actual CD-R that it is a 700MB CD ?? How can this much information be stored on a CD???

I need to get 797MB onto a CD-R, how can i do this, I am tottally new to copying and would appreciate all the help available.

    Many Thanks

vcd and svcd are burnt in mode2 form2 which means less error correction and therefore you can fit more.

    About 800 mb on a 80min cd.

  3. the mpg might be 780 - 800 megs or more, but once you convert it to a SVCD image, it will fit on a 700 meg cd no problem. i have movies that are 820-830 megs at times and once i use vceasy or nero to convert them to ISO and burn them as a SVCD compliant cd to play on my computer using power dvd or my apex SVCD player, it's fine.
