Wow, 48x.
I just got my LTR32123s 32x and it is pretty good. What I have found out is CDRDAO does not like my drive. Can you get the 48x to work with CDRDAO?
The included Nero software was a pleasant surprise. I had problems making VCDs until I read a post here & Unchecked the "Cache Files from Disk and Network" box on the Misc tab.
