  1. Hi,
    I'm a newbie.
I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried this.
    I want to burn a DVD file (mpeg2 @ 720x480) on a VCD media
The thought came to me when I wanted to burn a 10 min DVD file which I converted from my Digital camcorder
I don't want to burn it into the dvd-r if I could burn it in a vcd media
(vcd is still a lot cheaper, and I only need the 10min video on the disc)
I used Ulead Workshop to add menu and then burn on my cdrw,
and to my surprise it burned successfully,
However, when I put the disc on my dvd player, it won't show up
mine is pioneer 404, which is a pretty old one,
so I put it in my friend's dvd player, but the menu only show up for a second.
I can play it successfully on my pc using the software dvd player.
    My question is
    1. is this possible?
    2. if yes, any idea why I could not play it on my dvd player? or it's jut my player's problem

    thanks a lot!

Yes and no. You need to use either the VCD or SVCD settings if you are making a VCD-disc, (that means converting). Or... you can make a XVCD or a XSVCD. Read more on "What is"-section.
