There are sooo many different views and oppinions on this I just want advice from the experts. When it comes to Audio sync issues some places say that the TMPEG does not convert the .avi audio and to use VDub. Other places say to use TMPEG and tweek the vfapi plug in. So what is correct? Do I need to use VDub to extract the audio first when converting from .avi to .mpg? Or can I just use TMPEG for everything?

I has sync problems that are off and on throughout the movie.

    Thanks a bunch!!

To avoid a load of trouble, it is best to give TMPGEnc an uncompressed WAV file as the audio input.

VirtualDub and DVD2AVI are two tools that are often used to extract and decode the audio from the video.
