Some authoring programs are inexplicably fussy about the video clips they'll accept. Try using Nero instead.

in vcdeasy, there should be a checkbox toward the bottom of the screen tha says "perform some MPEG checks" (something like that)
uncheck that box and try again.
I'm not sure whether this will help, but it's worth a shot

  5. I am new at this. I have captured a 60 clip from VHS with VirtualDup (350x240 vcd format). The clip played ok on the computer. Then I tried to burn it to VCD with Nero 5.5 and the sound is out of syn. Any suggestions is appreciated.

    My computer:
    PIII 600
    windows xp
    Ati 64DDR Vivo
    28 gig main drive
    20 gig 7200rpm for capturing
